Heath Reunion 2016

Heath Family Reunion 2016

Around 35 people attended the Annual Reunion 2016 for those interested in the Family History of the Heath Families of Staffordshire, which took place at Endon Village Hall, Staffordshire on Saturday 21st May.

This year's event took a slightly different format to previous reunions in that we decided to give the afternoon more structure.
Mark Heath opened the meeting with an introduction to the group and an explanation of the use of tribal pages to pool all the family tree data and unite the research done by different family members. A link to the tree is available on the contents tab of this website.

Harry Burn then took centre stage to give everyone an overview of the Heath Family Website and inform us of future plans and changes to the website.

The final formal talk was a presentation by Melanie Myatt entitled Inspired by Family which was based on her research of the Heath family of Hallgate focusing on the family and life of George Heath, the Moorland Poet. She explained that it will be 150 years since the death of George Heath in 2019 and the group wishes to commemorate this is in some form. Further information will be available on the website and also on our new Facebook page Staffordshire Heath Family History.

Everyone spent the rest of the afternoon chatting and looking through the abundance of information, trees and photos which people were so good to share.

The group would like to remind everyone that it is happy to share information for personal research but it is polite to ask to copy someone else's photos, information etc. Also if any information, photos etc taken from the reunions or the website are used in a public publication including an alternative website then permission must be sought first.

The next reunion has not yet been planned but we may wait until 2018, information will be available on the website.
Many thanks to everyone who organised the reunion especially to Mark, Helen and Harry for setting up and to Tim and Alison for the refreshments.
